Britania Allied Industries Limited has received the President’s Export award of Gold Award from the Export Promotions Board as the No. 1 Exporter of Confectionery for 2006.

Like many of the products that Britania manufactures, Splash has been certified by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) as satisfactory for human consumption. The manufacturing process for Splash has continuously conformed to the Standards and regulations of Good Manufacturing Practices pertaining to fruit juice production. Hygiene practices are regulated by Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards.

The production of Splash has also been recognized by the international standards body ISO 9001:2000. Splash has been honoured with the prestigious Superbrand – one of the very few products in East Africa to receive this status.

KAIZEN IN BRITANIA

Kaizen is a Japanese approach and refers to work place ‘Quality’ strategy. Kai stands for continual while Zen stands for improvement. It is a never ending effort for improvement and involves everyone in the organization including managers and workers alike. Britania Allied Industries is proud to be one of the first few companies in implementing Kaizen.
Britania is busy reshuffling its systems under “OPERATION-KAIZEN” and implementing the Kaizen tools.

Through team work, personal discipline, quality circles and adopting suggestions for improvement, BAIL is going through transformation and the work environment has changed tremendously improving the morale of employees.

 From a wholistic perspective, Kaizen has led to elimination of waste and efficiency will improve further.

With this approach, improvements in all sections have been realized by providing Just in Time processes, zero defects and automation.

Business and recreation should go hand in hand -- one complements the other. Britania Allied has committed itself to support the Kampala Kids League through continuous sponsorship over the last few years. This initiative has provided the opportunity to the young ones to show and develop their talents, the key to the success of a strong football fraternity in Uganda. 

Britania has not stopped at that -- it visits schools on their sports days and showers the young and old ones with their variety of juices, confectioneries and biscuits. Needless to mention the entire sports fraternity should make products from Britania a “must-use” at sporting or other events.
